As part of enhancing operational efficiency and raising the
level of industrial safety, a specialized training course entitled “Corrosion
Prevention in Industrial Equipment at Cement Plants” was held at the
headquarters of the Arab Yemeni Cement Company Limited, targeting a number of
personnel from the Maintenance, Production, and Quality departments.
The course aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge of the
causes of corrosion and its effects on industrial equipment, and to present the
latest scientific and practical methods for preventing it, thereby contributing
to extending the operational life of equipment, reducing breakdowns, lowering
maintenance costs, and improving production efficiency.
The training program covered a number of important topics, most
notably: types of corrosion in cement plant environments, methods for early
detection of its manifestations, and mechanisms for selecting appropriate
materials and protection methods, in addition to practical applications and
case studies from the industrial work environment.
The training program was delivered by Dr. Abdulraqeeb
Al-Wahbi, from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Hadhramout University,
who addressed a number of scientific and practical aspects related to corrosion
prevention and methods of dealing with it in the industrial work environment.
At the conclusion of the course, the Human Resources Manager
at the Arab Yemeni Cement Company Limited, Mr. Majdi Omar Al-Siyouni,
emphasized the importance of continuing training and qualification programs in
the field of preventive maintenance, given their effective role in enhancing
equipment reliability, achieving operational sustainability, and improving
performance and productivity levels within cement plants.
